A de-matting service will only be offered to clients whose animals are of suitable age and where the matting is localised and not severe. It is not fair on the dog and can cause pain. This service may incur an extra charge depending on the extra time required for the procedure. It is always best to bring your dog in to be assessed where possible.

Please note that causing animals pain and/or suffering during this procedure is in contravention of the new Animal Welfare Act.

All dogs should have a regular bath. Only high quality shampoos and conditioners are used and we have spent years researching this as there are many shampoos that use organo-phosphates which can have a detrimental effect on both the dog and the pet groomer over time.

Our shampoos are designed to do the best for your dog's coat, all will reduce odours and enhance the colour or the whiteness or the shine etc and all are good for the dog’s skin and general coat condition.

In addition to our top-of-the-range shampoos, we can also offer specialist services including: odour and fox dirt removal; hot oil therapies; and nail care.

Some breeds have the option of several trim types, to allow for matted areas to be clipped out while still retaining some shape and style.

At Pampered Pets, styling tailored to the customer’s request. All dogs are styled so that they leave the salon looking excellent and ‘like’ their breed. Some customers occasionally ask for a special groom style and we may accommodate this if it is not unhealthy for the dog. All customers are advised of ‘good practice’ between grooms.

Removes excess hair from a dog's coat to give the required shape and style for the breed. Clipping is also used to remove matted hair so that the dog does not suffer from health issues due to matting.

Nail trimming is included, where required, as part of a full groom as we believe that nail care is important for a dog's health and welfare. 

At Pampered Pets, we believe that puppies should be introduced to grooming at an early stage, as soon as they have finished their vaccinations. This gets them used to the salon and it will become a fun experience. It also gets them used to getting feet and face trims while they are young.

This is a skill that used to remove dead or dying top coat hairs, and to style and shape the coats of wire-haired dogs and some others with similar coats. It causes no pain to the dog and it gives the dog a healthy coat allowing for future hair growth. As hand stripping is Labour intensive there are not many customers that ask for this in a salon however the skills are important to understand.
